The Need for Rice

Some people must have it everyday. Some stay indifferent.  I eat rice whenever the meal is enhanced and complemented with it.  My version of teriyaki glazed salmon: mix soy sauce, orange syrup, honey and apple cider vinegar.  After 6 minutes of baking a medium sized steak, brush the fish with the glaze, sprinkle with sesame seeds and broil for 2 minutes, or until the skin is crispy.  Serve with macaroni-fruit salad and rice.

Starting the Year Right

With easy vegetable soup.  Gather whatever vegetables you have; boil in chicken/vegetable stock base; add spices and grains; simmer and serve.  In my case, I added in order: carrots, potatoes, turnips, celery, onions, green beans, parsley, kidney beans, tomatoes, garlic, dried herbs, salt, pepper and ditalini.
