Weekly Photo Challenge: The Hue of You

I thought all day about this weeks challenge. What hue is me? It could be blue”berry”, lavender, strawberry red or green “tea”; but looking at what’s left at the Compartes’ Jonathan’s Signature Truffle box, it was in front of me the whole time. Chocolate!

Postcard Series: Not Just Maple

Vancouver City is so diverse, the number of excellent restaurants vying for at least 4 stars at Yelp or Urbanspoon, helps us when it comes to choosing a place to eat.

If you only have a day or two, try to go to Phnom Penh , Meat and Bread, Peaceful Restaurant and Lucky’s Doughnuts. All of these excellent places are reasonably priced and are worth the visit.

Happy eating!

Not So Impossible

“Like Alice, I like to believe 3 impossible things before breakfast.” Dr. Who

Well, I have six in two days.  Hamburger Ice Cream @ Scoops. Green Tea KitKat. Chlorella Granules.Shrimp with Sauce in a Tube. Chocolate Beer. And a Uniwolf with leopard fur along Abbott Kinney Blvd.

A Thursday Surprise

My favorite meal is brunch. When its cold and damp outside, on a work day, and you just don’t feel like getting out of bed, this meal would do the trick. Crabcakes, eggs on foccacia bread with fruit.

And a surprise treat! Simple chocolate pie and roses. It’s not Valentine’s day yet, so I wonder whats in store for me then.

Juliette et Chocolat

Sometimes when you see an intersting place, don’t wait until you head back. Just go! After a long, very cold walk I finally made it back to the chocolate bar Juliette et Chocolat. “Peru” plantation vintage cocoa beans for a sweet hot chocolate concoction and the buchette choco caramel noisette. The cocoa ($10.80) was clotty that just needed a quick stir but with a great not-to-bitter-not-to-sweet finish, and the noisette ($5.00) with a caramel filling that came out quite tasty.
